HDCP and HDMI Cable Compliance
High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is an encryption protocol developed by Intel to protect digital content as it travels across connections between devices. This technology:
- Prevents unauthorized copying/recording of premium digital content
- Creates a secure handshake between source devices (Blue-ray players, streaming devices) and display devices (TVs, monitors)
- Has evolved through multiple versions (HDCP 1.4, 2.2, 2.3) with increasing security levels
- Is required to view many streaming services and protected content at full resolution
HDMI Cable HDCP Compliance
All HDMI cables from our product line are fully HDCP-compliant. Important points to understand:
- HDCP compliance is determined by the devices, not the cables themselves
- Any standard HDMI cable can transmit HDCP-protected signals
- Our cables support all current HDCP versions (1.4, 2.2, and 2.3)
For optimal performance, ensure both your source device and display support the same HDCP version required by your content.
